The Start...

In April of 1996, a company began to form in the basement of a home. Three University of Missouri-Rolla students had an idea that was simple and real. At the time, the Internet was still foreign to many companies because of the high prices for online services and web pages. Thus, the concept was simple-affordable web sites. Consequently, Net Engineers was formed with the thought in mind that even the smallest businesses have a place on the World Wide Web.

While they were forming web pages for businesses around the community, another idea came to mind. Why not give the entire city a web page? The first virtual city created by Net Engineers was the city of Sullivan, Missouri. The Virtually Sullivan web site allowed local businesses a common place to market their web pages to the community. The concept was successful for Virtually Sullivan is still online today, and it is growing with the addition of more businesses and more people are checking it out for their local needs. Currently, Net Engineers is providing the same service to other surrounding cities.

Somewhere In The Middle...

While visiting businesses and consulting with them on their Internet needs, another need was discovered-quality computer services. Therefore, it was not surprising when Net Engineers began to provide new computer systems, upgrades to old computers, and technical support to area businesses.

Eventually, employees of the companies and their friends wanted to know where they could get a Net Engineers computer system. All of a sudden Net Engineers wasn't just serving businesses any longer. The explosion of business forced Net Engineers to increase their efforts to keep up with the demands of the public.

On June 6, 1997, Missouri Senator David Klarich came to Sullivan on the grand opening of the Net Engineers storefront. He presented a Missouri State Senate Resolution to Net Engineers during the ceremony. The resolution commended and applauded Net Engineers, Inc. "for their admirable efforts and initiative which have such a profound and positive impact on the social and economic climate in the Sullivan and Cuba communities."

The new store invited in the general public along with more businesses for computer services: new systems, upgrades, repairs, and other technical support. From that point, Net Engineers became very active in the local area. As members of three Chamber of Commerce and other boards, Net Engineers strives to help the local communities grow and prosper with all their technical needs.

Somewhere Right About Now...

The goals of the company are to build quality, affordable computer systems, have a fast turn around on system repairs, and to provide cost effective network solutions.

Since Net Engineers was formed, the staff has more than doubled, allowing the company to serve more of our clients' needs-especially in the area of networking. The networking staff will consult with businesses on any of their networking necessities. Net Engineers can be looked to for high-speed connection to the Internet, a local area network, or even a wide area network.
